How to restring a beaded necklace
2010-06-14 10:56:00
When your beaded necklace wear for a long time that the string of beads or pearls breaks, please don't try to knot the old one and reuse it. You will need to restring the beads onto a new piece of cord. The following is the simple direction to restring the necklace.
1.You search a piece of fabric, such as velvet or something with a similar texture, in order to prevent your beads from rolling away quite so much.
2. You had better keep the original string sometimes will need them, and cut a piece of nylon cord or beading cord 12 inches longer than the length of your original necklace. But the cord is thin enough, in order to pass through a bead twice, doubling back on itself.
3. Then you can start to thread a needle with the cord and tie a knot 1 1/2 inches from the end.
4. Because the beads are large, you can put a knot between the beads. When all the beads are strung, tie a double knot at each end.
5. When you make all the beads string onto the new cord, finally, you should attach a new clasp.
6. The finally, you should trim off the end of cord, leaving a length equal to the last bead.
Now you can restring the beaded necklace if they are broken or if you want to make your own beaded necklace.
