There are always a lot of different types of seashells waiting for you to choose from, but not all of us are so familiar with it. Here about the different types, I will give you a brief introduction.
There are countless amounts of seashells; so accordingly, there are also hundreds of different types of seashells. Seashells differ in size and color, some are small, and others are large, though every seashell comes from some kind of species of a marine mollusk.
Here about the types, I will show you something. One of the most common types of seashells is the cockle. Almost on every beach around the world, you can find such one. It is a small salt water clam, and it is either smooth or ridged, and they look similar to one another, so this one is very common to see. Another type is the cephalopods, which is from the Greek, the reason why it got its mane is that cephalopods have prominent heads; some of the cephalopods have no shell, while others do possess one. There is one special one, which is called ammonite, its shells can be found as fossils. Another type that comes from a marine creature of the same name, is the sand dollar, it is usually referred to as a sand dollar or a test. They are famous for their flat, round, and bleached appearance. The last but not lest type is the chitons, usually this one likes to live near rocky places. Their species can range in size from less than 1/2 inch to almost 12 inches, the reason why they are special lies in that when the shells wash up on shore, they have usually come apart.
Here I just show you a small part of the types of seashells; of course, there are still a lot of others, hope you can learn from other approaches.
