How to design your own silver pearl ring

Pearls look beautiful when paired with silver. The soft pearl luster works well with the cool metallic silver luster. Today both silver and drilled pearls is available at local jewelry stores, you can design your own silver pearl ring at home. The following are some instructions.
1. Gather all the things you need to design your silver pearl ring. This includes: short piece of string, 6 inches of 16-gauge or 18-gauge round silver wire, wire cutters, pliers (both flat nose and round nose), drilled pearl bead (make sure the hole is available to the silver wire) and ring mandrel.
2. Measure the width of your finger where you wear the ring at the knuckle with the string. If you want to make a large, bold ring, add three or four extra inches as the final measurement; if you want to make a delicate ring, add two or three extra inches as the final measurement.
3. According to the measurement above, measure and cut the silver wire to the proper length.
4. String the pearl on the wire. Use the round nose pliers to grip one end of the silver wire and form a spiral. Make another spiral at the other end of the wire. Now the silver wire is in S shape with the pearl in the center.
5. Push the pearl to one end of the spiral, and bend the wire to hold the pearl in place. Take the ring mandrel and wrap the wire around it to form a ring.
6. Use the pliers to adjust the silver wire and make it suit your finger comfortably.
Now you have finished the silver pearl ring. It is easy to handle with limited tools and materials. This simple but elegant ring is suitable for daily wear as well as formal occasion. Enjoy it.
