Natural turquoise refers those without any alteration to the composition. When made into jewelry, natural turquoises remain slightly porous, less manmade treatment. Stabilized turquoise is usually in nugget form having no luster. Before making jewelry, these turquoises are submerged into a stabilizing compound and dried. Using a clear resin to fill the pores, it allows diversity of shapes and possibilities.
Enhanced turquoise is an upgraded process, using vaporized silica. The turquoise made in this method is difficult for an experience jeweler to detect.
