Shape styles of pearl necklace

While besides the round shape, pearl necklace also have other shapes such as like tear drop, pear, potato, coin and irregular baroque shape.
1. Teardrop pearls necklace are pearls that have been drilled through the end of the pearl instead of through the center. Shapes used for these necklaces are typically rice or egg shaped pearls. Because of the way that the pearls are drilled, you'll get many more pearls on a necklace than center drilled pearls. Pearls that are drilled in this fashion are often called "Dancing Pearls" or "head drilled" pearls.

Sizes range from 10.5 mm to 13mm. Coin Pearls have been extremely popular for the last few years. When they first came out, they were almost prohibitively expensive, but now we are seeing more reasonable prices for these big pearls.
4. Potato Pearls are just as they sound - shaped like a potato. They tend to be rounder and have more features than a rice pearl. Potato Pearls tend to be similarly sized between length and width, and size will be range from 5mm to 7.5 mm.
