How to make a silver chain and crystal pearl necklace
2010-08-19 08:52:36
When the soft pearl luster is paired with the cool metallic luster of silver, the elegant beauty of the necklace is incomparable. A silver chain and crystal pearl necklace will light up your wardrobe, and looks great with evening dress. What’s more, you can make a silver chain and crystal pearl necklace by yourself. Here are some instructions.
1. Make preparations and gather all the materials needed. This includes: 68 inches of sterling silver cable chain, eight 4mm sterling silver jump rings, eleven 10mm crystal pearls, eighteen 8mm crystal pearls, fifteen 6mm crystal pearls, one sterling silver four strand clasp, forty-four 1 inch sterling silver eye pins, wire cutters, pliers (both flat nose and round nose).
2. Let’s start with the silver chain. You should cut the chain in three kinds of length. First, cut the chain measuring a one and a half inches long, 19 parts; second, cut the chain measuring three quarters of an inch long, 23 parts; third, cut the chain measuring three inches long, 6 parts.
3. Take an eye pin and string a crystal pearl. Make a small loop on the straight end of the pin just above the bead, and cut the extra wire. Repeat the method and finish all the 44 eye pins with pearls.
4. We will make a four strand necklace . When making the first strand, we will use silver cable chains measuring one-inch-and-a-half long and 10mm crystal pearls. Connect the pearls with silver chain alternatively, with one silver chain following one crystal pearl. Remember, you should start and end each strand with silver chain. Finish all the 10mm crystal beads.
5. When making the second strand, we use eighteen 8mm pearls and nineteen three-quarter-inch silver chains. The third strand is made of ten 6mm pearls and eleven one-inch-and-a-half sliver chain. The fourth strand is made of the remaining five 6mm pearls and six three-inch sections.
6. Now you need to get four strands together. Use jump ring to attach the first strand to the first loop of one part of the clasp. With the same method, attach the second strand to the second loop, the third strand to the third loop and the fourth strand to the fourth loop. Repeat the same process to finish the other end of the necklace.
Now you have finished your gorgeous necklace! Isn’t it beautiful? Make the necklace patiently and carefully, and you will find the result is more than what you have expected. Enjoy your splendid piece.
