How to care for pearl earrings

Pearl earrings are a popular choice because they are not flashy and yet they draw attention to the wearer in positive ways. They are a classic, tasteful complement to any outfit and a valuable addition to any jewelry collection. With proper care, you can prolong the life of your pearls.
Cleaning
As for daily cleaning, you can have your pearl earrings under run warm water and gently rub your pearls with a soft tissue. If your pearl earrings contain a large amount of dirt, you can make cleaning solution with warm water and a few drops of mild dish washing detergent, then soak the pearl earrings in the clean sink. Do not allow the pearls to soak for more than 30 minutes. After that, rinse the pearls with warm water to remove any soapy water that has been left behind after soaking. Place the pearls on a soft cloth for 36 to 48 hours after they have been soaked in order to let them dry out.
Wearing
The basic principle is put on last and takes off first. For instance, if you want to do some exercise, you should remove your pearls earrings from sweat and oil. You can wear your pearl earrings after spray your perfume and allow it to dry. Protecting your pearl earrings will prolong their life.
Storing
You’d better store your pearl earrings in a cloth pouch or jewelry bags. Then place the jewelry bag containing your pearl earrings into the jewelry boxes so that they will not be scratched by other hard jewelry. Do not store them near a heat source; this can dry out the pearls and cause them to crack.
