How to design decorative jewelry boxes
2010-09-01 08:52:29
It is not difficult to create your own decorative jewelry box if you want to make it personalized. Just with some imagination and some craft supplies, you can do it. Here we will tell you how to make decorative jewelry boxes by yourself.
You are first supposed to evaluate the box cover and cut a cloth of fabric large enough to cover the wrap, edges and an inch on the underside of the box lid. Cut another cloth to fit the underside of the lid. Cut one length of fabric which can encircle the box on the outside and fold 3 inches on the inside of the rim. Cut a cloth to fit the bottom of your box. Apply spray glue on the areas to be covered and wrap them in fabric. Adhesive a large seashell to the center of the lid with a glue gun.
After the first step, you should cover wrap and box base with decorative rhinestones or other materials. Find the craft stones with flat backs and fasten them onto the box surface with jewelry glue. Draw a pattern directly onto the box and fill in with rhinestones or randomly place them in a burst of color. Let the glue dry according to the manufacturer's directions.
Paint decorative pictures on your box with a template . For stamping, you can apply the paint color of your choice to the stamp with a brush. Let the paint decorations dry before you add a topcoat for protection and shine.
Split strips and blocks of decorative stamp album paper. And apply a thin layer of decoupage medium to your box and press on the torn paper. Let the decoupage medium dry before applying another coat or two of decoupage medium to seal the paper on the box.
Anyone who want to create your own decorative jewelry box can follow the above four steps.
