2010-08-19 13:06:15
Cloisonné artists solder a wring of copper or bronze wire to create the outline of patterns, and fill the base with colored enamel paste. This unique eastern style jewelry is very popular all over the world. Here we will show you how to use cloisonné beads to make bracelets.
1. Make preparation for making cloisonné jewelry bracelets. You need to visit local craft store to buy some cloisonné beads. If you can’t get the bead in the jewelry store, you can order some online. You also need to get jewelry wire, copper spring ring (a kind of clasp), two copper clam shells used to hind the finish end, crimp beads and pliers.
2. Measure your wrist and cut a proper length of jewelry strand. Leave extra inches for the finish part.
3. With one side of the wire, pass it through the bottom part of the cloisonne beads and string a crimp bead. Place the crimp bead about 2 inches from the end of the wire, crimp the crimp bead with pliers, and pull the wire back and pass it through the same hole. Adjust the wire to place the crimp bead in the clam shell. Close the clam shell with pliers to hide the crimp bead, and put a part of the spring ring on the hook of the clam shell.
4. Now you can thread the cloisonné beads. After finishing all the beads, refer to step 3 to add another clam shell, crimp bead and spring ring to finish the other end.
Now you have finished your cloisonné jewelry bracelets! Here we adopt this special ending method with copper spring ring and copper clam shells in order to keep the harmony of the bracelet. You may try other method to end the bracelet; you can even use flexible cord and tie two sides of string at the end.
