Types of bangles

A standard bangle is used as accessory with precious and semi-precious stones. The designs vary from simple to intricate handmade designs. Here is given a short description of types of bangles popular.
The first type is bracelets. A bracelet is worn around the wrist to achieve ornamental purpose. The material made of bracelets includes metal (gold or silver), plastic, wood, and shells. There are various types including bangle bracelets, expansion bracelets, cuff bracelets, beaded bracelets, charm bracelets, spiral bracelets and link bracelets.
Second are the bangles, the solid form of bracelet without clasps or closures. They are often smooth, textured or set with stones. The most common in India is the glass bangles, in width of about 1/4 - 1/8 inch.
Next we look at the baju band or arm bands. They are armlets with one or more talismanic pendants. Arm bands are used to match with sleeveless or short sleeved dresses to create great look.
The last type is the Kanghan, thicker than ordinary bangles. They are worn on both sides of a set of bangles women wear. Ornate Kanghans are worn singly to give a minimalist look.
Originated from India, the bangles have become a important part in fashion jewelry. With the long history, the bangles with various types can bring more and more different styles to fashion.
