How to make a key necklace

It is an easy task. With limited tools and components, you can make a beautiful key necklace. Here are the instructions.
1. Find the proper key for making the necklace. You can either pick an old key from your key collection, or buy a key charm in the jewelry store.
2. Decide what color you want your key in. If you are not satisfied with the color of the key, you can turn to the nail polish for help. Paint nail polish on the key completely. Then let the nail polish dry. You can get the key in the color you like.
3. Measure the chain to the length that suits the wearer, fold it in half and locate the center link on the chain. Get a jump ring, open it with pliers and insert it to the link you have located as the center. Then thread the jump ring through the hole in the key, and close the jump ring with pliers. You can stop now if you are satisfied with this simple style. Attach clasp on each end of the chain to complete the key necklace.
4. But if you want to make it more elegant, you can add other gemstone or beads on it. Start from the center link, count five link on both sides. Add a crystal, or any other beads you like, to a head pin, attach it to one side of the link, and close the pin. Repeat the same process on the other side. With this method, you can add whatever you want to the chain, to enhance the appearance of key necklace.
