1. Round pearls are pearls in perfect sphere. Many people take it for granted that pearls should be round. But the fact is that round pearls are rare and thus the most expensive. Akoya pearls in high grade are found in round shape.
2. Near round pearls, as suggested by the name, is not perfectly round but close to round. This kind of pearls can be a good alternative to the rare round pearls, with elegant outlines and cheaper price. Most freshwater pearls are found in this group.
