The matters needing attention when cleaning jewelry
2010-06-24 17:29:00
If we can master the methods on jewelry cleaning , it is not a difficult task, and it will not take a lot of minutes of your time. Now let us have a look at the matters needing attention when cleaning jewelry.
Preparation
You need to prepare small and soft brush, lots of warm fresh water, and professional cleaner. If you have not brush, a piece of sponge will do the trick. Dish soap that is gentle to the hands is best. Do not use hot water because it will heat and expand the setting and any jewels can work themselves loose.
Rinsing
Rinsing is a very important process. If you have a ball type of tea strainer, it is good. You can place your jewelry into the strainer and let clean warm water run through the ball. If you don’t have a strainer, you can carefully hold the piece in your hand under the running water.
Dry
Dry is the last but not least point. Soft cloth is a must. A jewelry polishing cloth is better. Although paper towels will do, they can not eliminate the possibility of scratches. So you’d better try your best to find professional jewelry polishing cloth. And then pat dry rather than rubbing.
With the three matters needing attention, you can clean and take good care of your jewelry to keep them new.
