In 1969, Adidas shoes decided to launch a low-top version of their top selling Pro Model shoe. Over the years, there have been many adaptations of the original, all with the same great features of the original. Adidas Superstars have the trademark rubber shell toe piece, also donning the traditional Adidas stripes on the side, and a thin leather tongue. Adidas was the first shoe company to bring this type of low top style to the basketball courts.
